Beverly’s Surprise Brunch

A birthday is always cause for celebration. Yet each decade, it is fabulous to go a little bigger. There was no exception for Beverly’s 70th birthday hosted by her daughter. The surprise brunch took place at the gorgeous Japanese Gardens at Long Beach State. The weather last Saturday was ideal for the festive occasion.

A number of tray passed hors d’oeuvres were passed out along with the signature champagne cocktail prior to the sit down brunch.

Champagne Cocktail with Framboise

Port Caramelized Onion Canapes
Served atop a puff pastry with creamy gorgonzola

Lamb Chops
Finished with rigani and fresh squeezed lemon juice

Cheeseburger Conettes
With shredded lettuce, sliced cheddar, fried onion,
cornichon, ketchup cream with a ground beef burger

Camembert & Caramelized Onion Quesadillas
Served with a Mango Dipping Salsa

Tuna Tartar Cones
Served in a Miso Sesame Cone
Topped with creamed Wasabi and sesame seeds

Macadamia Crusted Chicken Lollipops
Served with a Chardonnay dipping sauce

The brunch itself was served buffet style and included some of Beverly’s favorites.

And of course, what is a birthday without a cake! Rossmore Pastries made the perfect confection.
