A Great Night for a Good Cause
Last weekend we catered a five course wine tasting dinner at a private residence in Los Angeles. The evening was a fundraiser for Campbell Hall Episcopal School in Studio City. The whole evening was a gorgeous, show-stopping event enjoyed by all. We captured the courses for you and are sharing some of our favorite photos of the night here.
What wine tasting would be complete without a cheese and charcuterie platter with nuts, fruit and olives?
The night began with tray passed hors d’oeuvres paired with Sparkling Lambrusco – a light sparkling red wine.
Lemon Caper Tuna Tartar served on a Beet Crisp.
Insalata Caprese Pipettes.
Proscuitto, Shallot and Goat Cheese Stuffed Shrimp.
The First Course in the formal sit-down dinner was the TGIS Signature Stripe Salad paired with Friulano – a light white wine made with the Sauvignon Vert grape.
The Second Course was our Seared Dry Packed U-10 Scallops with a Mushroom and English Pea Confit accompanied with Truffled Whipped Cream & Pancetta Powder and finished with Tangarine Lace.
Alternately, for vegetarians, a Farro Mushroom Risotto Lentil Tower with Lentil and Mushroom Confit were served.
These two dishes were paired with a fresh and fruity Swiss wine – Petite Arvine.
The Third Course of Smoked Sea Salt Bone Marrow over Fresh Buckwheat Pasta and finished with Valtellina Casera was served with a rich red Nebbiolo Valtellina.
The Fourth Course was paired with a lovely Taurasi red wine which went beautifully with our Five Spice Sous Vide Short Ribs served over Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Sicilian Pureed Cauliflower.
The Fourth Course vegetarian option was a Cauliflower Steak topped with Sun Dried Tomato, Shallot, Caper & Olive Relish served over a Cauliflower & Tomato Braised Puree.
Not to be outdone was the over-the-top dessert display of assorted mini sweets. These included Tiramasu Shooters, Lavendar Cake Lollipops and Chocolate Dipped Canolis.
All the wine went wonderfully with each course and left the diners sated and happy. Cheers to another great dinner!
