An Unforgettable 260 Person Wedding at the Natural History Museum

Some events stay with you long after the last plate has been cleared.

Recently, our team had the privilege of catering a 260-guest wedding at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County—a celebration that transformed one of Southern California's most iconic spaces into an evening filled with incredible food, meaningful moments, and unforgettable memories.

As guests arrived, they explored the museum during cocktail hour, enjoying tray-passed hors d'oeuvres and handcrafted cocktails while surrounded by towering exhibits and timeless architecture. The setting created an atmosphere that felt both grand and deeply personal, allowing friends and family to reconnect before the celebration continued.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, our culinary and service teams were preparing for the next chapter of the evening.

Dinner was designed to be shared. Rather than a traditional plated meal, the couple chose family-style service—a style of dining that naturally brings people together. As platters made their way around each table, conversations grew louder, laughter filled the room, and guests experienced the meal together.

The menu reflected the same thoughtful approach. Cocktail hour featured favorites such as Coconut Battered Shrimp and Hawaiian Poke Tacos before guests sat down to a vibrant Ginger Miso Papaya Salad with black kale, white cabbage, fried Thai basil, serrano chile, and miso ginger dressing.

The family-style dinner continued with a selection of globally inspired entrées and accompaniments, including Spicy Bulgogi Boneless Chicken Thighs, Crispy Garlic Miso Glazed Salmon, Thai Green Vegetable & Tofu Curry, Asian Garlic Noodles, and Hunan Honey Black Vinegar Broccolini. Every dish was chosen with intention, creating a menu that felt welcoming, abundant, and memorable.

One of the most rewarding moments of the evening came just before dinner service began. The reception room had been transformed with beautiful florals, elegant tablescapes, candlelight, and carefully considered details. Watching the couple step inside for the first time—to see months of planning come together before their guests entered—is a moment our team will always remember.

Those are the moments that remind us why we love what we do.

While guests experience a wedding over the course of an evening, countless hours of planning, preparation, collaboration, and craftsmanship happen long before the first toast is made. Every vendor, every member of the service team, every chef, and every planner contributes to creating something that feels effortless for the people celebrating.

We're grateful to have played a small part in such a beautiful day and to have served a couple whose celebration reflected exactly what weddings are meant to be: bringing people together over exceptional food, meaningful conversation, and memories that last long after the final dance.

Because at the end of the day, that's what hospitality is all about.
