Dancing Under the California Sky

“La Familia Meets Opa”

This award-winning, lavish wedding, set in the hills of San Juan Capistrano beneath a gorgeous California sky, left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. “La Familia Meets Opa” won Best Catered Wedding at the 2026 ACE & Gala Awards.

The private estate offered both breathtaking beauty and logistical complexity. The ceremony unfolded in the courtyard, followed by cocktails in the rose garden and a candlelit reception beneath the stars. Every detail, from menu design to guest flow, was orchestrated with precision, turning potential challenges into moments of magic. The result: a seamless evening of fine dining, heartfelt toasts, and dancing under the California sky – but not one without challenges.

The venue offered no on-site refrigeration, limited power, and sloped pathways connecting the ceremony and reception spaces. To overcome these challenges, we utilized a refrigerated truck strategically placed to minimize noise impact. Two transfer stations were established to navigate stairs and slopes efficiently, while detailed staff assignments ensured flawless service across a football field’s distance. Large generators powered an off-site kitchen and illuminated the reception area. From our kitchen staff to our servers, it was nothing short of a flawless miracle, celebrating the joy of love.

In the age of social media, the true art of catering lies in crafting deeply personal experiences. For this couple, food became the love story itself. Blending her Greek heritage and his Italian roots, we designed a menu that was both meaningful and magical.

Our chef featured a delicate cheddar and strawberry almond-crusted pop tart, in honor of the snack they shared on their first date, a playful fish-and-chip fritter with malt vinegar pipettes to recognize their time in England, and dipping bowls of fett’unta and fire feta, symbolizing the union of both families. The main course featured branzino and caramelized tomato lamb shoulder with béchamel, an elegant marriage of Mediterranean & Italian flavors.

For 36 years, we have fed not just guests, but dreams and memories. We continue to evolve, continue to create, continue to love this craft deeply. Weddings are not transactions to us – they are stories we are lucky enough to help tell, and every time our work becomes part of someone’s forever memory, we are reminded what a privilege it is to do what we do.
